Traditional / Battle Shields

Historically inspired, our handcrafted Traditional / Battle shields bring elements from the Viking Age back to the modern day, features a central hand grip and two strengthening ribs.

Each shield is hand made with traditional planked construction. Made for battle with raw hide edging, linen facing, metal shield boss and can have the hide either hand sewn or nailed onto the shield planks.

All visible wooden parts have a scorched finish (enhances the grain and makes the wood more weatherproof for battles in the rain)

A variety of designs can be added to the front face of the shield, from single colours to intricate historic or fantasy designs.

White shield shows Jormungandr, Red shield shows the Ravens ‘Huginn & Muninn’.

Shields can be made in a variety of sizes (diameters) to suit the individual customer together with bespoke designs / colours.
